This Signature Generator processes everything securely in your browser. Whether you draw on the screen or type a name, the signature image is generated on-device and never sent to a database.
The serverless design ensures instant response times, zero network transmission latency, and allows the page to work fully offline. You can safely sign receipts, legal notices, invoices, or letters without exposing sensitive company records to third-party databases.
Electronic Signatures vs. Digital Signatures
While often used interchangeably, there is an important technical distinction between these concepts:
- Electronic Signature (E-Signature): Any electronic sound, symbol, or process attached to a contract representing a person's intent to sign. Drawing a signature on our canvas or placing a typed signature image onto a JPG document is a legal electronic signature.

What file formats are supported?
The tool exports signatures as high-resolution transparent PNG files. This transparency is crucial because it allows the signature to overlay cleanly on top of document lines without showing an ugly white background box. The document placement signer supports JPG, PNG, and WebP background document images.
Can I use this tool on a mobile phone?
Yes. The drawing canvas supports touch events, enabling you to sign using a finger, stylus, or Apple Pencil on iOS and Android tablet/phone screens. Dragging and positioning the signature on documents is also fully touch-compatible.
How does Type-to-Sign work?
Type-to-Sign loads cursive font sets from Google Fonts. When you enter a name, we render it on a canvas element using the selected cursive typeface, convert the canvas content into a transparent PNG data URL, and render it in the workspace. This is a quick alternative if you find drawing with a mouse or trackpad difficult.
Are my signed documents private?
Yes, 100%. When placing your signature overlay onto a document image, the combination and export occur on a local browser canvas. None of your document files, coordinates, or signatures are sent over the network. Your document remains fully private on your device.
